Step back to the early 1900s, when a scenic rail line carried excited travelers from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore to the breezy shores of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland. The path the train followed—winding through the wild, floral countryside of Southern Maryland—became lovingly known as the Honeysuckle Route, named for the sweet scent that lingered in the summer air. Although the train no longer runs, the historic train station has been preserved as a museum, a testament to the rich history of this charming town.

This delicate floral candle captures the essence of that nostalgic journey, blending honeysuckle and jasmine with bright notes of lemon and ginger, soft woods, and a gentle powder finish. Honeysuckle Route evokes barefoot adventures, golden afternoons, and the timeless joy of summers gone by.

Care Instructions

It is very important to trim the wooden wick to 1/8" before every lighting, so the wax can be drawn up the wick properly. If the wick is too high above the surface or if the burnt wood is not removed, the flame may become too low and even self-extinguish. You can use a wick trimmer, nail clippers, or even your fingers to gently break off and remove the burnt parts of the wick before lighting. Just make sure that your candle has cooled and the wax has hardened because you do not want to have any ash or wick debris falling into the wax.

Be patient with lighting wooden wicks because they take 10 or more seconds and maybe even 2-3 attempts to catch fire. The best way to do it is to tilt your candle and let the flame draw across the length of the wick. We recommend using wand or USB lighters to light wooden wicks.

Each time you light the candle, allow it to burn until the wax melts across the entire surface up to the sides of the vessel as this will create an even burn for the duration of the candle. This usually takes about 2 hours. Do not burn longer than 4 hours at a time.

Keep your candle away from windy spaces. Drafts decrease burn time, cause uneven burning, smoking and diminished scent throw. Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times. Stop burning your candle when there is 1/2" of wax left to prevent possible damage to the counter/surface or the container itself. Always store your candles in a cool, dark and dry place. Keep the lid on to protect the wax from dust and debris. Avoid placing your candle in direct sunlight.

WARNING: To prevent fire or serious injury, always burn your candle within sight. Keep away from children and pets. Keep away from flammable objects. Only burn candles on a level, fire resistant surface.
